The hydroseeding concept is based on the exploitation of water as transport and distribution vehicle of the seed for the turfing of lands that, because of different reasons, cannot be sown with the usual seeding technics and machinery.
The principle is applicable every time that you need a rapid turfing in heavy environmental conditions, such as:
filling
grounds, lacking in
fertilizing elements available for new cultivations
lands
at a high altitude
or with almost vertical faces, exposed to exceptional environmental
and washing-away conditions. All these problems of "extreme seeding" can be easily and simply solved by the "Casella Hydroseeding" system.
The water is the essential component for the system working: it is kept in constant motion in the tank by a special pump; all the elements necessary for the turfing are then added to the water:
the
seed, after choosing
and mixing the most suitable arboreal and shrubby varieties for
every specific environment;
the
peat or topsoil which
is essential for the formation of the substratum that allows
the seed to germinate even in parched and inert lands;
the
liquid or granular fertilizers
that give the nourishing elements so as to allow the seedlings
to grow after the germination;
the
organic bioelements and integrators that speed up the natural process, generally
very slow, of transformation of the inert substances into fertile
substratum and humus;
the
glues of natural origin
whose very important function is to hold up the mixture on the
surfaces where it has been distributed, by literally "glueing"
it to the almost vertical face and by considerably reducing the
noxious effect of washing-away and streaming in case of rain
after the hydroseeding treatment.
The mixing of all the products that make up the mixture is obviously
very important for the success of the work.
The "Casella Hydroseeding" system differs from other systems
proposed by the market because all the liquid mass keeps on circulating
in the tank for the whole of both the preparation and distribution
phase by keeping the mixture always uniform from the first litre
of product to the last one, since the mixing is carried out by
the water itself.
Another advantage of the "Casella" water self-mixing
system lies in the fact that all products, and especially the
seed, circulate in a "fluid" inside the tank and the
pipings, with regular and harmonious movements and not with shakings
and shocks like in the mixings carried out by blades or screw.
A special attention is given to the manufacture of the pump and
the injectors so as to avoid dangerous obstructions or damages
to the product; they can work with water loaded with up to 30%
of solid substances and with any type of seed.
As a result, the seed reaches the ground in a homogeneous mixture
and, above all, it is intact and perfect, without physical damages
and therefore it is in the best conditions for a good germination.
So the novelty and exceptionality of this solution lies in the
possibility to uniformly distribute with only one operation the
seed and all that is necessary to let it germinate by means of
a water jet whose range is up to 40/50 metres, by allowing you
to work on impassable lands or very steep slopes. To reach points far from the machine, the "Casella Hydroseeding" solution provides for the use of a hosepipe that can be 120 metres long; it is also possible to work with a manual nozzle jet for the product distribution.
